CHEP, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to restoring stability, dignity, and hope for veterans. We operate supportive housing programs in Maryland and South Carolina, along with a permanent housing project in Washington, DC, creating safe spaces where individuals can begin again.

Our housing programs are more than a place to live, they are a foundation for healing and growth. Veterans are given the opportunity to rebuild their lives through skill development, employment, financial stability, mental health support, and recovery services. Every step is guided by a compassionate team that meets each person where they are and walks alongside them toward independence.

Beyond housing, CHEP strengthens communities through education, opportunity, and connection: 

Our Courses for a Cause continuing education conferences equip professionals and community members with the tools to better support those facing mental health and substance use challenges. Through our accreditation services, CHEP partners with organizations across diverse industries to achieve and maintain high standards of quality, compliance, and continuous improvement.

The CHEP Outpost, our “Retail for Real Change” thrift store, serves as both a community hub and a source of opportunity, supporting workforce development while generating funding for vital programs. Located at 124 Greenmount Road, Rising Sun, MD 21911.

Initiatives like Play for Charity Sports bring people together in support of a shared mission, turning everyday moments into meaningful impact.

Neighbors for Heroes is more than a membership program, it is a commitment to the veterans in our community. Through monthly or annual support, individuals and businesses directly contribute to programs, outreach, and services that change lives.
